TIME FOR PRAYER
Perhaps it is time to respond to the world around us. I am not afraid, but I am concerned. I am concerned for those I love-my husband, my children, my grandchildren, my great-grandchildren. How does a parent explain this condition to a six-year-old little girl? Or do we need to? Has she grown up in such a different world than I knew that the news on television is a part of life and not the catastrophe as I view it? Perhaps home school and lessons on her phone and computer are exciting and new. Mom and Dad are both at home every day and in her little world in western Montana life is good. I thank God every day that this is truth for all my great-grandchildren and their parents.
My concern is for the health of my friends (as we are that “older” generation). My concern is for those I know who work in those “essential” areas of daily life. My concern is for those children who are without a safe home and parents to watch out for them. My concern is for our government leaders forced to make new decisions daily. Decisions unprecedented in our history and yet so important to the well being of our country and the world. My concerns are many, and yet I follow the guidelines set before me. I pray daily for each of these situations. And there is my reason for no fear. Prayer.
My faith in God encompasses all these situations. My family, my friends, my leaders, my country are all covered by God’s promises and so I can be concerned but not afraid.
